The Process

I LOVED working on this project not only because the bride was an absolutely gem but also because she decided to go with gold foil which is so fun to work with. Because of its cost, gold foil is one of those wedding invitation accents that usually gets nixed when our Pinterest boards come to life.

The design process started with the custom wedding logo that included calligraphy of the couples’ initials with a lovely and simple floral wreath design. The monogram was used throughout the wedding suite as the couple’s new signature emblem. Floral elements from the monogram were used in multiple designs including the custom floral pattern we developed for the envelope liners and belly band.

Gold foil is quite pricey because the printers need to make a plate of the design that then presses the gold into the paper. Due to this fact, we opted to use gold only for the main invitation which was a lovely accent to the clean, classic black and white suite.
